Poverty puts many children at risk of abandonment and homelessness in Ghana. Many of these children either die prematurely, or walk the streets in search of food. Some of the most desperate children turn to robbery or prostitution as means of survival. These children who could be as young as babies are in need of love, care and affection.
Royal Triangle Volunteers considers it a duty to collaborate with you in assisting such needy children, orphans, abused children and street children with a common aim of bringing meaning into their lives. In our bid to achieve our ultimate goal of "inculcatng a can-do spirit and a sense of hope in the needy" we help prepare needy children for life by teaching them life-skills and self-reliance. Together, we offer the the attention and mental stimulation these children need to build their self-confidence and develop a healthy social skills.
Besides supporing the children in the orphanages, we offer guidance and support for families of children at risk of abandonment to enable them cater for their own children.
Royal Triangle works in affiliation with four orphanages all of which are located in the Eastern Region of Ghana. They include:
Bless The Children Home in the Kwahu East District
Jehovah Rapha Orphanage in Suhum in the Suhum-Kraboa Coaltar District
Placements are available all-year-round and for all.
We recommend program duration of four weeks. For such a four-week period, volunteers will be exposed to children of different ages, from babies to teenagers. Opportunities exist for our volunteers to work in every aspect of an orphanage support services. You could help with meal preparation, teach the children literary skills, home care and appropriate personal hygiene, help them with their homework, play games with them or simply sharing your time, experiences and knowledge with them.
Interacting with the children on a daily and personal basis is incredibly rewarding and enlightening.
